A grandparents promise
“A Grandparent’s Promise”
I won’t just love you loudly—
I’ll love you in the quiet ways too.
The ones that don’t ask for anything back.
I’ll be the arms that are always open.
The voice that never rushes you.
The place you run to
when the world feels too loud.
I won’t just show up for the big moments—
I’ll be there for the ordinary ones…
because those are the ones
you’ll remember most.
I’ll clap the loudest.
Pray the hardest.
And believe in you—
even when you don’t yet believe in yourself.
I’ll tell you stories
about who your parent used to be…
before life got heavy,
before time moved so fast.
I’ll give you patience.
Second chances.
Too many hugs.
And snacks you probably shouldn’t have.
I’ll hold your hand
just a little longer than I need to—
because I already know
how quickly this all goes.
One day,
you won’t need me like this.
And that’s okay.
Because my love isn’t going anywhere.
My prayers won’t slow down.
And my heart will always recognize yours
as one of its greatest gifts.
This is my promise—
for as long as I’m here…
and even after.

Grandparents
THE QUIET TRUTH GRANDPARENTS CARRY
There is a quiet truth
many grandparents carry in their hearts.
Not one they speak about often.
Not one they bring up at the dinner table.
It simply sits there
gently resting beneath the joy.
Because grandparents know something
children are too young to understand.
Time is moving.
They watch their grandchildren
run across the yard in the springtime.
Little shoes kicking through the grass.
Tiny hands reaching for dandelions.
Laughter floating through the air
like it might stay forever.
And for a moment
it feels like it will.
But grandparents have lived long enough
to know how quickly the years turn.
They know the small child
holding their hand today
will one day grow tall.
They will have their own dreams.
Their own homes.
Their own little ones to rock to sleep.
And a grandparent quietly wonders
how many of those chapters
they will get to see.
But the quiet truth
is not only about time.
It is about something deeper.
Because grandparents also know
the love they pour out now
does not disappear.
The prayers whispered over little heads.
The hugs given in the doorway.
The stories told in rocking chairs.
Those things travel forward.
Long after the years pass
and seasons change
and life keeps unfolding.
So grandparents hold them close
a little longer.
They watch them
a little more carefully.
They thank Jesus
for every ordinary afternoon.
Because the quiet truth
grandparents carry is this:
We may not see
every page of their story.
But God allowed us
to help write
the beginning.

Grandma's Hand.
This hand will blow you a million kisses.
It will wave you many goodbyes.
It will pick you up if you fall.
It will help to soothe your cries.
It has washed pots and pans.
It has fed an army of men.
It will wipe away your tears.
It will teach you to count to ten.
It is the shield I'll use to protect you.
It holds the finger to teach you wrong.
It will play so many characters,
as together we sing a song.
It shall pat you on your back.
It will lift up your chin.
It will put your hand inside of it
even when it no longer fits in.
It will help you to get dressed.
It will point you the right way.
This hand is your best friend.
and it won't ever go away.

Sweet Mack is growing
Mack is growing up so quickly. It is sad to see how fast he has grown from the sweet little fellow who loved to play with his train everytime he came to my house. He has really started improving at baseball. He can hit the ball way out into outfield most of the time and he has even started jumping up to try and catch the ball while being the home plate catcher. He figured out how to ride his bike without training wheels and absolutely loves riding his bike. He is a big helper to his moma and daddy around the house with the chickens and the cows.
He did such a great job at church. They had kids takeover day and he was so brave he recited his Bible verse in front of the whole church. He also got to help run the sound system in the first service.
He is such sweetheart - I just love him to the moon and stars and back!!
He sent me a recording of him singing
Skidamarink a dink a dink,
skidamarink a doo.
I love you!
Skidamarink a dink a dink,
skidamarink a doo.
I love you!
I love you in the morning,
and in the afternoon.
I love you in the evening,
and underneath the moon.
Oh skidamarink a dink a dink a dink,
skidamarink a doo.
I love you!

Let them be little
Let them be little,
Let them be silly,
Let them giggle,
Let them explore,
Let them ask for you to read that story once more,
They’re only little for so long,
Then one day these precious tender moments are gone,
The memories carried with you like a delicate old song,
Let them play,
Let them sing,
This will all be gone in a blink,
One day these little moments will feel like a distant dream 💭 ❤️

A grandmother knows...
A grandmother knows that children grow too quickly
and the time will soon come when they will no longer ask you to play with them.
A grandmother knows that it is more important to dedicate your time
to them instead of taking care of the house.
A grandmother knows that listening to them without haste is for them
the best gift.
A grandmother knows that their tantrums are sometimes
requests for help.
A grandmother knows that you never go back
I will really miss their little hands around my neck.
A grandmother knows that sometimes a day never passes
and the years fly by...
